{"id":329210,"date":"2024-07-01T08:24:41","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T07:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=329210"},"modified":"2024-07-01T08:24:41","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T07:24:41","slug":"influx-of-terrorists-to-niger-communities-untrue-residents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/07\/01\/influx-of-terrorists-to-niger-communities-untrue-residents\/","title":{"rendered":"Influx Of Terrorists To Niger Communities Untrue \u2014 Residents"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Terrorists have used parts of Kainji National Park as hideouts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Residents of New Bussa, Borgu Local Government Area, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/05\/gunmen-suspected-to-be-kidnappers-abduct-traditional-ruler-in-niger\/\">Niger State<\/a>, have denied reports of an influx of terrorists from the Niger Republic and the Republic of Benin.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, a video circulated on social media allegedly showing a large group of terrorists linked to Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda threatening to occupy Kainji National Park, causing concern among residents of New Bussa, Borgu LGA&#8217;s headquarters, and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p>Yakubu Aliyu Bio, spokesperson for the Borgu Youths Development Association (BYDA), stated that while terrorists have used parts of Kainji National Park as hideouts, the report of an influx was found to be false.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was confirmed earlier by security agents that the news was false. Although there was significant panic initially, the Park\u2019s CG, who is a native of the area, also affirmed the information was inaccurate. Residents have since resumed their normal activities,\u201d Yakubu said.<\/p>\n<p>Yahaya Abdulsamad, another resident, acknowledged previous threats by terrorists to the area but emphasised that the recent report of a large influx from Niger and Benin Republics was unsubstantiated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, terrorists attempted to attack the army barracks.
