Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo state, has presented staff and instruments of office to the Elempe of Tapa, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Oyekanmi Titiloye (Abioje I).<\/p>\n
The event took place at Tapa Community High School, Tapa, Ibarapa North Local Government.<\/p>\n
The event was held on Monday.<\/p>\n
The ceremony was attended by prominent indigenes of the town and top government officials in the state.<\/p>\n
Makinde, who was represented by his deputy, Adebayo Lawal, charged the monarch to work for the town\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
Makinde, while speaking, reiterated the commitment of the current administration in the state to improving the traditional institution.<\/p>\n
He added that the selection of Oyekanmi was a demonstration of the government\u2019s fidelity to transparency and the rule of law.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cAs we gather to celebrate this momentous occasion, I charge Oba Titilayo Oyekanmi to embrace the responsibilities that come with this exalted position.<\/p>\n
\u201cI implore him to work closely with the government to address the pressing needs of our community, including education, healthcare, security, and economic development. By doing so, we can create a brighter future for our people and ensure the continued prosperity of Tapa.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn particular, I urge Oba Titilayo Oyekanmi to take bold steps to tackle the scourges of kidnapping, banditry, and land grabbing that have plagued our community.
