{"id":330400,"date":"2024-07-10T09:55:54","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T08:55:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=330400"},"modified":"2024-07-10T13:58:57","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T12:58:57","slug":"nelfund-onboards-12-additional-institutions-for-student-loan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/07\/10\/nelfund-onboards-12-additional-institutions-for-student-loan\/","title":{"rendered":"NELFUND onboards 12 additional institutions for student loan"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The Fund urged all institutions that are yet to submit their student\u2019s data to the Student Verification Portal to do so to enable their students to benefit from the scheme.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>Students from those state government-owned tertiary institutions can now visit http:\/\/nelf.gov.ng to apply for the loan.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced it added 12 additional state government-owned tertiary institutions to the student loan application portal.<\/p>\n<p>NELFUND\u2019s spokesperson, Nasir Ayitogo, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Ayitogo said the expansion comes following the successful submission and verification of data completeness and accuracy required from the institutions.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ayitogo, students can now visit nelf.gov.ng to apply for the loan.<\/p>\n<p>The institutions include Abia State Polytechnic, Benue State University, Makurdi, College of Education, Waka-Biu, University of Medical and Applied Sciences Enugu State, Aliko Dangote University of science and Technology Wudil, Kano State, Kwarw polytechnic, and Lagos State University of Science and Technology.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Uniersity Lapai, Niger State, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Taraba State Polytechnic and Yobe State University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith this latest addition, the total number of participating state government-owned tertiary institutions has now increased from the initial 36 announced earlier to 48. Students data from 121 institutions is outstanding,\u201d Ayitogo noted.<\/p>\n<p>NELFUND, however, urges all institutions that are yet to submit their students data to the Student Verification Portal (SVS) of the fund to kindly do so to enable their students benefit from the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>It also urges states whose data has been captured and successfully uploaded to urgently sensitise their students to apply, thereby bringing succour to students who are struggling financially whilst also bringing guaranteed revenue to the institutions.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Fund urged all institutions that are yet to submit their student\u2019s data to the Student Verification Portal to do so to enable their students to benefit from the scheme.
