{"id":331511,"date":"2024-07-18T09:25:51","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T08:25:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=331511"},"modified":"2024-07-18T09:25:51","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T08:25:51","slug":"primate-ayodele-tinubu-not-taking-advice-distributing-rice-to-state-governors-will-lead-to-corruption","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/07\/18\/primate-ayodele-tinubu-not-taking-advice-distributing-rice-to-state-governors-will-lead-to-corruption\/","title":{"rendered":"Primate Ayodele: Tinubu not taking advice&#8230; distributing rice to state governors will lead to corruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>..Asks FG to rethink its economic policies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Primate Ayodele further noted that Tinubu\u2019s decisions will kill Nigeria\u2019s economy, advising him to listen to advice that can help the country.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Primate Elijah Ayodele, Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, on Thursday chided the federal government of Nigeria for sending trucks of rice to state governments.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a statement by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele said that the rice would not get to those that were really suffering.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Recall that the federal government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/07\/15\/fg-distributes-rice-to-alleviate-food-insecurity\/\"><strong>distributed<\/strong><\/a> 20 trucks of rice each to the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Mohammed Idris, minster of information, who appealed to state governors to ensure equitable distribution of the rice to those who need it the most, said each state and the FCT had received 20 trucks containing 1,200 bags of 25kg of rice.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Reacting imon Thursday, Ayodele said the development would only lead to more corruption and hardship because governors don\u2019t care about the needy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He said the governors would rather share the rice with their party members adding that Tinubu&#8217;s government was not ready to listen to good advice.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2018\u2019There is no way this will get to the needy, those who are suffering,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe Tinubu government isn\u2019t ready to listen to advice. They are not doing what is feasible, Nigerians are hungry and angry, everyone is affected, the president must be careful.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2018\u2019Sending trucks of rice to governors that don\u2019t care about the needs of the people, that don\u2019t share in people\u2019s pains, is tantamount to arbitrary corruption. They will give it to their party members, loyalists and even hoard it.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cWhy is this government not listening? The more you bring such, the more the hardship. The truck of rice will only increase hardship and poverty, that\u2019s not the solution.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Primate Ayodele warned that Tinubu&#8217;s decisions will have a devastating impact on Nigeria&#8217;s economy, urging him to heed advice that can rescue the country from economic ruin.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to the prophet, a better course of action would have been for the president to direct the trucks of rice to be distributed to markets nationwide, where they could be sold to the people at affordable prices.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2018\u2019This is simple mathematics, like God revealed to Pharaoh about famine, God has revealed to prophets the situation of Nigeria, we have said this in 2022 about what Nigeria will experience, it is better the government listens before it kills the economy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u2018\u2019The government should have taken the trucks to markets across the country and sold them at a very subsidized rate to the needy.
