{"id":3359,"date":"2021-03-08T16:41:05","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T15:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=3359"},"modified":"2021-03-08T16:42:18","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T15:42:18","slug":"gambari-marwa-shehu-receive-covid-19-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/08\/gambari-marwa-shehu-receive-covid-19-vaccine\/","title":{"rendered":"Gambari, Marwa, Shehu receive COVID-19 vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, on Monday, led other officials of government to receive the Oxford\/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at a ceremony in State House Clinic, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>Gambari was joined by the former military administrator of Lagos and Borno state, and the Chairman\/CEO of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd), and the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar.<\/p>\n<p>The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, was also vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>They were later handed their vaccination cards by the Chief Medical Director of the State House Medical Centre, Dr Husain Munir.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking shortly after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/07\/covid-19-vaccination-buhari-didnt-suffer-side-effects-says-presidency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccination<\/a>, Gambari said the was painless and that he followed the footsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari who he said demonstrated leadership alongside his deputy by receiving the jabs on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He advised eligible Nigerians to take the vaccines assuring that it is safe.<\/p>\n<p>The chief of staff added that the more Nigerians are vaccinated the more we are safe.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Marwa, congratulated Nigerians as the vaccines are now in the country, urging citizens to take the vaccine so that Nigeria can be COVID-19 free as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, had during the week said that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has a mild side effect.<\/p>\n<p>Ehanire explained that those vaccinated may experience \u201csmall pain\u201d in the area it was injected.<\/p>\n<p>Ehanire, however, stated that the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine is expected to be painless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari, on Monday, led other officials of government to receive the Oxford\/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at a ceremony in State House Clinic, Abuja.
