We have been victims of irresponsible leadership,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Akpata said he joined the Labour Party due to its logo, which represents the party&#8217;s focus on people.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that democracy&#8217;s core definition prioritizes people, but governments have neglected this aspect.<\/p>\n<p>Akpata stressed that leadership is the primary issue and that a leader must take charge to serve the people.<\/p>\n<p>After touring Edo state five times, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/06\/19\/edo-debt-profile-is-worrying-akpata\/\"><strong>Akpata<\/strong><\/a> observed a consistent pattern of neglect and abdicated leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Akpata criticized the current PDP government in Edo, calling it &#8220;wicked&#8221; and &#8220;irresponsible,&#8221; and expressed disappointment in the neglect.<\/p>\n<p>He said was astonished by the PDP candidate&#8217;s attempt to distance himself from the government he served for almost eight years.<\/p>\n<p>Akpata learned that leadership is crucial and that good leadership can make a difference, as seen in Abia and Anambra states.<\/p>\n<p>As a new politician, Akpata faces a significant trust deficit due to people&#8217;s past negative experiences.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;My first challenge as a new politician is confronting people who don&#8217;t believe anymore.
