{"id":337870,"date":"2024-09-08T08:25:48","date_gmt":"2024-09-08T07:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=337870"},"modified":"2024-09-08T08:25:48","modified_gmt":"2024-09-08T07:25:48","slug":"nelfund-takes-student-loan-sensitisation-to-south-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/09\/08\/nelfund-takes-student-loan-sensitisation-to-south-east\/","title":{"rendered":"NELFUND Takes Student Loan Sensitisation to South-East"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc marker:font-mono marker:text-sm pl-8\">\n<li><strong>The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has expanded its loan sensitization program to the South-East, visiting two major educational institutions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>NELFUND aims to help students overcome financial barriers by providing loans for tuition and living expenses, promoting educational success<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has expanded its student loan sensitisation programme to the South-East, visiting Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State and Federal Polytechnic, Nekede in Imo State.<\/p>\n<p>The sensitisation events were organised in collaboration with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), and NELFUND&#8217;s Managing Director, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, engaged with both institutions&#8217; leadership and students.<\/p>\n<p>At Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Mr. Sawyerr stressed the programme&#8217;s role in helping students overcome educational financial barriers. \u201cIt is a great honour to be here at this prestigious institution,\u201d he said, highlighting the programme\u2019s importance in providing financial resources necessary for educational success.<\/p>\n<p>Sawyerr noted that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/07\/18\/student-loan-northern-institutions-leading-in-applications-nelfund\/\">NELFUND<\/a> is committed to ensuring no student is left behind. He emphasized the need for South-East institutions to actively participate by submitting accurate student data to facilitate smooth loan disbursements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe commitment to education is unwavering, and we are making sure every student has an equal opportunity to benefit from this scheme,\u201d he added. He encouraged students to utilize the loan, which covers tuition fees and living expenses, to achieve academic success.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing concerns about disbursement delays, Sawyerr urged institutions to ensure timely and accurate submission of student data to avoid interruptions in students\u2019 studies.<\/p>\n<p>At Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Sawyerr reiterated NELFUND\u2019s commitment to fair loan distribution across all regions, including the Southeast. He assured students that the initiative aims to empower them and contribute to national development.<\/p>\n<p>The event, organised by NANS, highlights the strong collaboration between students and NELFUND. Both institutions\u2019 leadership commended NELFUND for its dedication to education and pledged its support in facilitating the loan disbursement
