{"id":338194,"date":"2024-09-10T21:39:30","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T20:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=338194"},"modified":"2024-09-10T21:39:30","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T20:39:30","slug":"fufeyin-nafdac-not-empowered-to-regulate-spiritual-products-bishops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/09\/10\/fufeyin-nafdac-not-empowered-to-regulate-spiritual-products-bishops\/","title":{"rendered":"Fufeyin: NAFDAC not empowered to regulate spiritual products \u2013 Bishops"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The protesters, who were drawn from Fufeyin\u2019s Church and other Christian denominations stormed the NAFDAC office bearing placards with different inscriptions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Some Bishops have slammed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/09\/08\/prophet-jeremiah-fufeyin-denies-using-nafdacs-name-on-spiritual-items-to-deceive-nigerians\/\">National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control<\/a> over its negative public review of prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin spiritual products.<\/p>\n<p>Fufeyin is the Senior Prophet of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry, Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>This is even as the aggrieved Bishops warned the agency to desist from attacking the prophet over his spiritual products.<\/p>\n<p>The Bishops, who were over seven in number, issued the warning on Tuesday, when they led protesters to NAFDAC&#8217;s office in Asaba, the Delta State capital.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters, who were drawn from Fufeyin\u2019s Church and other Christian denominations stormed the NAFDAC office bearing placards with different inscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters, who defied heavy rain, express their displeasure at the attack on him.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the placards read, \u201cSpiritual products have spiritual backing, don\u2019t need NAFDAC approval, When it comes to spiritual, respect it among others.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the protesters, the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Charismatic Anglican Church of Nigeria, Samuel Baaba cautioned NAFDAC on spiritual matters.<\/p>\n<p>Baaba said, \u201cWe are men of God and we are here in solidarity to send a message to NAFDAC to refrain from its step over spiritual matters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNAFDAC does not have the right to regulate spiritual products. There is a limit to what people can do especially when it comes to matters of faith\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also speaking, Rector Union Theological Institute and Seminary, Port Harcourt, Evangelical Church, Calixtus and Most Celestine Ewurum added that they were only interested in the issue that concerned items that are spiritual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo the best of my knowledge and which I have read through the NAFDAC Act, 2004, if there is an amendment, I don\u2019t know, where it could regulate the spiritual product.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNAFDAC don\u2019t have right to declare the products fake when it never tested the product, NAFDAC should out clearly what is wrong with the water\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<p>The NAFDAC\u2019s Director General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, on Sunday alerted Nigerians to the activities of a faith-based organisation, Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, using the agency\u2019s name to deceive the unsuspecting public<\/p>\n<p>She said none of the products (Miracle &amp; Healing Water, River Jordan Water, among others were registered with NAFDAC, advising the public to stop patronising any of the miracle products<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The protesters, who were drawn from Fufeyin\u2019s Church and other Christian denominations stormed the NAFDAC office bearing placards with different inscriptions Some Bishops have slammed the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control over its negative public review of prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin spiritual products.
