{"id":33823,"date":"2021-05-15T03:46:47","date_gmt":"2021-05-15T02:46:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=33823"},"modified":"2021-05-15T03:46:47","modified_gmt":"2021-05-15T02:46:47","slug":"motor-boy-narrowly-escapes-death-in-ogun-as-truck-plunges-into-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/15\/motor-boy-narrowly-escapes-death-in-ogun-as-truck-plunges-into-river\/","title":{"rendered":"Motor boy narrowly escapes death in Ogun as truck plunges Into river"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A motor boy narrowly escaped death when a truck plunged into a river at Toll-gate along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.<\/p>\n<p>The Sango-Ota Area Commander of the Ogun Traffic and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Mr Adekunle Ajibade, who confirmed the incident said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/27\/accident-claims-5-lives-on-lagos-ibadan-expressway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accident<\/a> happened at about 5.00 a.m on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Ajibade said the motor boy was rescued with the assistance of other traffic agencies like the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the police.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the driver of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/13\/truck-crushes-siblings-motorcyclist-to-death-in-akwa-ibom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">truck<\/a> was coming from the Sango-Ota axis and heading towards the toll gate when he lost control due to brake failure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver tried to avert mishaps that could have claimed so many lives by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/19\/newly-wed-man-four-others-die-as-bus-plunges-into-river-in-ondo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plunging into the river<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank God the driver came out unhurt while no life was lost also in the accident,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ajibade added that the motor boy had been rescued after several hours of being trapped in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>He said the motor boy had been taken to an undisclosed hospital for intensive treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Ajibade advised truck owners to properly service and maintain their vehicles before putting them on the highway to avoid unnecessary loss of lives and property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A motor boy narrowly escaped death when a truck plunged into a river at Toll-gate along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
