{"id":339692,"date":"2024-09-24T11:43:31","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T10:43:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=339692"},"modified":"2024-09-24T11:43:31","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T10:43:31","slug":"kwara-abdulrazaq-appoints-pioneer-vice-chancellor-in-new-varsity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/09\/24\/kwara-abdulrazaq-appoints-pioneer-vice-chancellor-in-new-varsity\/","title":{"rendered":"Kwara: AbdulRazaq appoints pioneer vice chancellor in new varsity"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>She is the first female professor from the Ilorin Emirate.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/09\/13\/abdulrazaq-swears-in-six-new-kwara-judges\/\"><strong>Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq<\/strong><\/a>, has appointed Professor Medinat Salman as the pioneer vice chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED), Ilorin.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement signed by the governor\u2019s chief press secretary (CPS), Rafiu Ajakaye, on Tuesday, said the appointment was with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said Salman will serve in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive vice chancellor for the new institution.<\/p>\n<p>A professor of Mathematics Education, Salman was until her appointment, a Lecturer at the department of Science Education and coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN).<\/p>\n<p>Salman had her Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria in 1985; a Master\u2019s degree in Mathematics Education at the University of Ilorin in 1990, and a doctoral degree in Mathematics Education from University of Ilorin in 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Her research interests are Mathematics Education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovation in mathematics education in the developing world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>She is the first female professor from the Ilorin Emirate.\u00a0 The Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has appointed Professor Medinat Salman as the pioneer vice chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED), Ilorin.
