This decision was communicated in a letter from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by Chairman Mr. Ekpo Nta.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/09\/05\/nysc-to-increase-corps-members-allowance-soon-dg\/\">corps members<\/a> received only N33,000 in their September allowance rather than the newly approved amount.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with the BBC Hausa service, the NYSC DG clarified that while the allowance increase was approved, the government has not yet released the necessary funds for its implementation.<\/p>\n<p>He stated, \u201cNot only corps members&#8217; salaries but even our staff members\u2019 salaries were increased about four to five months ago, yet it has not been implemented. We remain hopeful that the new pay will be enacted soon, but the funds have not been disbursed to us yet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The DG noted that specific details regarding when the new allowance would be
