{"id":341226,"date":"2024-10-08T19:28:10","date_gmt":"2024-10-08T18:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=341226"},"modified":"2024-10-08T19:28:10","modified_gmt":"2024-10-08T18:28:10","slug":"i-built-my-refinery-without-support-from-nigerian-govt-dangote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/10\/08\/i-built-my-refinery-without-support-from-nigerian-govt-dangote\/","title":{"rendered":"I built my refinery without support from Nigerian Govt \u2013 Dangote"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The Africa richest man also revealed that the Dangote Refinery already produces sufficient diesel and jet fuel to meet Nigeria\u2019s demand<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The President of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/10\/08\/dangote-refinery-named-sole-supplier-of-jet-fuel-in-nigeria\/\">Dangote<\/a> Group, Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that he didn&#8217;t receive any help or incentive from the Nigerian government to build his 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote made the disclosure at the ongoing Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria Summit in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>The Africa richest man, who was represented by the Executive Director, Dangote Group, Engr Mansur Ahmed, also revealed the Dangote Refinery already produces sufficient diesel and jet fuel to meet Nigeria\u2019s demand.<\/p>\n<p>The $20 billion refinery came on stream on January 12, 2024, with a refining capacity of 300,000 barrels but increased to 400,000 barrels by the end of September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>On September 15, the refinery began distribution of its petrol with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited as the sole off-taker.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote said despite being the largest producer of crude oil in Africa, Nigeria has for decades largely depended on imports to meet its refined petroleum product needs.<\/p>\n<p>With the lifting of Dangote Petrol, NNPCL announced a fresh fuel price between N950 and N1,100 per liter across its retail outlets nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote in September 2024 also advocated for the Nigerian government to remove fuel subsidies completely<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Africa richest man also revealed that the Dangote Refinery already produces sufficient diesel and jet fuel to meet Nigeria\u2019s demand The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that he didn&#8217;t receive any help or incentive from the Nigerian government to build his 650,000 barrels per day capacity refinery.
