East Winds Aviation operated the helicopter.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were 8 persons on board (6 passengers and 2 crew members). The appropriate authorities have been contacted, including the Ministry of Aviation, who have since issued a press statement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within Nigeria reported a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/12\/26\/three-die-as-niger-military-helicopter-crashes\/\">helicopter<\/a>, a Sikorsky SK76 with registration 5NBQG, operated by East Wind Aviation, took off from Port Harcourt Military Base (DNPM) to the FPSO \u2013 NUIMS ANTAN oil rig and crashed at 11:22 am along the waterways in Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Odutayo Oluseyi, said a total of eight persons were confirmed on board.<\/p>\n<p>The aircraft ditched into the waters near Bonny Finima in the Atlantic Ocean, the authorities said in a statement, adding that rescue efforts have been activated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSearch and rescue missions are currently ongoing.
