{"id":343991,"date":"2024-11-01T06:45:12","date_gmt":"2024-11-01T05:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=343991"},"modified":"2024-11-01T06:45:12","modified_gmt":"2024-11-01T05:45:12","slug":"dangote-refinery-nnpcl-has-not-approved-petrol-release-to-ipman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/01\/dangote-refinery-nnpcl-has-not-approved-petrol-release-to-ipman\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangote Refinery: NNPCL Has Not Approved Petrol Release to IPMAN"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc pl-8\">\n<li><strong>Dangote Refinery clarified it has not received authorization from NNPCL to distribute petrol to independent marketers, addressing IPMAN&#8217;s concerns<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Dangote&#8217;s Group Chief Communications Officer stated that independent marketers must pay directly to the refinery for smoother access to fuel supplies<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Dangote Refinery has clarified that it has not received authorization from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to distribute Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to independent oil marketers.<\/p>\n<p>This statement came in response to claims from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/21\/ipman-reveals-why-theres-fuel-scarcity\/\">(IPMAN)<\/a> that they struggle to obtain petrol from the refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer at Dangote, addressed concerns raised by IPMAN President Abubakar Garima, who noted that independent marketers could not load fuel despite holding \u20a640 billion in outstanding payments to NNPCL.<\/p>\n<p>Garima\u2019s comments followed Aliko Dangote\u2019s remarks indicating that marketers were not utilizing the refinery, which holds an ample fuel supply.<\/p>\n<p>Chiejina clarified that Dangote Refinery has not received any direct payments from IPMAN. \u201cTo suggest IPMAN members are experiencing difficulties loading from our refinery is misleading since we currently have no direct dealings with them,\u201d Chiejina stated.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that IPMAN\u2019s payments were made to NNPCL, not Dangote Refinery, which has yet to receive NNPCL\u2019s authorization to release PMS to IPMAN.<\/p>\n<p>He further noted that the refinery can meet Nigeria\u2019s fuel demands, loading up to 2,900 trucks daily and distributing products by sea. Chiejina advised IPMAN to register and pay directly to Dangote for smoother supply access.<\/p>\n<p>Chiejina urged stakeholders to avoid public speculation, warning that unverified statements could harm the government\u2019s economic initiatives under President Bola Tinubu.
