{"id":344155,"date":"2024-11-02T21:30:43","date_gmt":"2024-11-02T20:30:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=344155"},"modified":"2024-11-02T21:30:43","modified_gmt":"2024-11-02T20:30:43","slug":"nscdc-nabs-truck-driver-for-allegedly-diverting-10000-litres-of-petrol-in-osun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/02\/nscdc-nabs-truck-driver-for-allegedly-diverting-10000-litres-of-petrol-in-osun\/","title":{"rendered":"NSCDC nabs truck driver for allegedly diverting 10,000 litres of petrol in Osun"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>The commandant said that the suspect loaded 40,000 litres of petrol at Pinnacle Distribution Depot in Eleko, Lagos State.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>He added that the suspect confessed to diverting the petroleum product.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/10\/27\/police-chief-orders-investigation-into-clash-between-police-and-nscdc-officers-in-osun\/\"><strong>Osun command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)<\/strong> <\/a>apprehended Afeez Adegbola, an NNPCL truck driver, for allegedly diverting 10,000 litres of petrol.<\/p>\n<p>Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo addressed the press in Osogbo, presenting Adegbola and his two assistants.<\/p>\n<p>Adegbola loaded 40,000 litres of petrol in Lagos but delivered only 30,000 litres at an NNPCL filling station.<\/p>\n<p>He was arrested Friday at 8:21 pm at Tempola filling station in Ikirun while unloading the remaining 10,000 litres.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect admitted to diverting the fuel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an act of sabotage and stealing against the state. They are saboteurs and anti-state,\u201d Sotiyo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNSCDC warns all petroleum product distributors nationwide that sabotage will be prosecuted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNSCDC urges NNPCL managers to collaborate in bringing saboteurs to justice.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo more business as usual; criminally-minded individuals must reform or face consequences.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon completing investigations, suspects will face court charges.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The commandant said that the suspect loaded 40,000 litres of petrol at Pinnacle Distribution Depot in Eleko, Lagos State.
