{"id":345736,"date":"2024-11-16T08:31:46","date_gmt":"2024-11-16T07:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=345736"},"modified":"2024-11-16T08:31:46","modified_gmt":"2024-11-16T07:31:46","slug":"dangote-petrol-marketers-announce-fuel-price-slash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/16\/dangote-petrol-marketers-announce-fuel-price-slash\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangote petrol: Marketers announce fuel price slash"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Dangote Refinery agreed to sell petrol directly to its members, ending the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited\u2019s (NNPCL) role<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that its members will lower petrol prices by N50 per litre when buying directly from Dangote Refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Abubakar Maigandi, IPMAN&#8217;s National President, announced the news in an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that Dangote Refinery had agreed to supply petrol to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2022\/06\/21\/ipman-reveals-why-theres-fuel-scarcity\/\">IPMAN<\/a> members at a rate of N940 per litre for depots and N990 per litre for trucks.<\/p>\n<p>According to Maigandi, under this arrangement, IPMAN members who currently sell petrol for between N1,150 and N1,200 per litre will reduce their prices by N50, depending on location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresently, we have been given two different arrangements on how to buy fuel from the refinery,\u201d he noted. \u201cThere\u2019s one where we can load the vessels and carry them to our various depots at the rate of N940 per litre. Then, for the depots, it is at the rate of N990 per litre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Maiduguri, for instance, Maigandi mentioned that \u201cthe current price is N1,200 per litre. With these changes, it may likely reduce to N1,150, which is a reduction of N50. So that\u2019s N1,150; it may even be below that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This new arrangement follows Monday\u2019s announcement from IPMAN that Dangote Refinery agreed to sell petrol directly to its members, ending the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited\u2019s (NNPCL) role as the exclusive buyer of Dangote\u2019s petrol.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Nigerians currently pay between N1,060 and N1,200 per litre at NNPCL retail outlets and other filling stations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dangote Refinery agreed to sell petrol directly to its members, ending the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited\u2019s (NNPCL) role The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that its members will lower petrol prices by N50 per litre when buying directly from Dangote Refinery.
