{"id":347022,"date":"2024-11-26T07:59:24","date_gmt":"2024-11-26T06:59:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=347022"},"modified":"2024-11-26T07:59:24","modified_gmt":"2024-11-26T06:59:24","slug":"were-targeting-2mb-d-oil-production-by-end-of-december-nnpc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/26\/were-targeting-2mb-d-oil-production-by-end-of-december-nnpc\/","title":{"rendered":"We&#8217;re Targeting 2mb\/d Oil Production By End Of December \u2013 NNPC"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong> Reports had emerged in the media on Monday stating that the 1.54 million barrels per day for September quoted by the NUPRC was far below the 1.8mbpd for November bandied by the NNPC Ltd.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/23\/naira-for-crude-deal-nnpc-reneging-on-crude-supply-agreement-dangote-refinery\/\">Nigerian National Petroleum Company<\/a> Limited has said it is working relentlessly to ramp up crude oil production to 2 million barrels per day and above by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>This is even as the company refuted reported discrepancy in production figures cited by the company and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Company (NUPRC).<\/p>\n<p>Reports had emerged in the media on Monday stating that the 1.54 million barrels per day for September quoted by the NUPRC was far below the 1.8mbpd for November bandied by the NNPC Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the reports, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd., Olufemi Soneye said the reports are not true.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that that there was no disparity between production given by both stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has clarified that there is no discrepancy between its crude oil production figures and those supplied by the regulatory agency, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Company (NUPRC),\u201d the statement read in part.<\/p>\n<p>It explained that the seeming disparity is a result of the difference in the period of coverage in the reports \u2013 whereas the NNPC Ltd.\u2019s figure was the peak production for October 2024, the NUPRC\u2019s figure was the average production for September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis fact was confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of NUPRC, Mr. Gbenga Komolafe, at the recent 42nd Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists Annual International Conference &amp; Exhibition in Lagos where he disclosed that Nigeria\u2019s crude oil output, including condensate, increased by 16.56 per cent to 1.8mbpd million in October 2024, from 1.54 million bpd in September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CEO of NUPRC who was represented by the Executive Commissioner, Development &amp; Production, Enorense Amadasu, was quoted as saying: \u201cThis represents an increase of 253,710, bpd to reach 1.8 million bpd in October, up from 1.54 million bpd in September 2024, representing 16.56 per cent month-on-month rise\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NUPRC also confirmed at the NAPE event that the 1.8mbpd feat pushed Nigeria\u2019s production beyond the 1.5mbpd quota of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is, therefore, no disparity or discrepancy in the production figures by NNPC Ltd and the regulator,\u201d the statement added<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reports had emerged in the media on Monday stating that the 1.54 million barrels per day for September quoted by the NUPRC was far below the 1.8mbpd for November bandied by the NNPC Ltd.
