{"id":347281,"date":"2024-11-28T08:59:49","date_gmt":"2024-11-28T07:59:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=347281"},"modified":"2024-11-28T08:59:49","modified_gmt":"2024-11-28T07:59:49","slug":"port-harcourt-refinery-nnpc-petroan-speak-on-petrol-price","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/28\/port-harcourt-refinery-nnpc-petroan-speak-on-petrol-price\/","title":{"rendered":"Port Harcourt Refinery: NNPC, PETROAN speak on petrol price"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>PETROAN says members only bought PMS with the old pricing template<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) says the Port Harcourt Refinery Company Limited has not released any new purchase price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).<\/p>\n<p>PETROAN made this known in reaction to reports that a litre of petrol at the Port Harcourt Refinery is N75 higher than that of Dangote Refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking during the reopening ceremony of the refinery on Tuesday, PETROAN National Public Relations Officer Joseph Obele said petrol from the refinery is priced at N1,045 per litre, N75 higher than the N970 per litre sold by Dangote Refinery.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Billy Gillis-Harry, National President, PETROAN, however made clarification in a statement on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/26\/breaking-port-harcourt-refinery-begins-operation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">refinery<\/a> operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC Ltd.), on Tuesday began the first truck-out of petroleum products given the re-streaming of the rehabilitated facility.<\/p>\n<p>The re-streaming and truck loading signalled the commencement of crude oil processing from the plant and delivery of petroleum products to the market.<\/p>\n<p>The rehabilitated refinery is currently operating at 70 per cent of its installed 60,000 barrels per day (bpd) capacity, with plans to ramp up to 90 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>In view of this, Gillis-Harry said members of PETROAN only bought PMS with the old pricing template while awaiting the new prices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited that the production and loading of refined petroleum products have commenced at the refinery, and we are expecting that soon, the price of PMS will be stated by NNPC to the benefit of Nigerians,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to this, Mr Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd., said the company had not commenced bulk sales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have not yet commenced bulk sales, and we have not yet opened the purchase portal as we are still finalising the necessary processes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt present, the products we are selling at our retail outlets are what we bought from the Dangote Refinery, which includes the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) fees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe product from Port Harcourt Refinery is currently for our retail stores.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur prices are regularly reviewed and adjusted as required,\u201d the NNPC Ltd. spokesperson said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PETROAN says members only bought PMS with the old pricing template The Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) says the Port Harcourt Refinery Company Limited has not released any new purchase price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
