For too long, we\u2019ve exported crude oil and other materials only to import their finished products at higher costs. This cycle must end,\u201d the minister stated.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted natural gas&#8217;s potential to transform Nigeria\u2019s economy, drawing comparisons with countries like Japan, which have used gas to revolutionize their transportation sector and industrial output.<\/p>\n<p>Programme Director of the Presidential CNG Initiative, Mr. Michael Oluwagbemi, announced that Federal Capital Territory (FCT) residents would enjoy free transportation on the CNG buses for the next 40 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter this initial period, commuters will benefit from discounted fares, ensuring that the initiative provides long-term relief and economic benefits,\u201d Oluwagbemi said.<\/p>\n<p>He also highlighted the safety and reliability of the CNG-powered buses, which are expected to serve as a model for sustainable transportation in the country.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative is part of broader government efforts to harness Nigeria\u2019s gas resources for domestic use, reduce dependence on
