{"id":349083,"date":"2024-12-13T15:10:23","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T14:10:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=349083"},"modified":"2024-12-13T15:10:23","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T14:10:23","slug":"breaking-tinubu-appoints-acting-cg-for-correctional-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/12\/13\/breaking-tinubu-appoints-acting-cg-for-correctional-service\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Tinubu appoints acting CG for correctional service"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Ndidi\u2019s appointment takes effect from December 15, 2024<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>Tinubu urged appointee\u00a0to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new capacity<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>President Bola Tinubu has appointed Nwakuche Ndidi as the Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service.<\/p>\n<p>His <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/11\/21\/fg-announces-appointment-of-new-acting-unizik-vc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">appointment<\/a> follows the expiration of the tenure of the current CG, Haliru Nababa.<\/p>\n<p>Nababa was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari on February 18, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Friday, the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board, Ja\u2019afaru Ahmed, said Ndidi\u2019s appointment takes effect from December 15, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed stated, \u201cThe President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has graciously approved the appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service following the expiration of the tenure of Haliru Nababa. His appointment takes effect from December 15, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNwakuche, born on November 26, 1966, hails from Oguta in Imo State. Until his appointment, he was the Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Training and Staff Development Directorate.
