{"id":349857,"date":"2024-12-20T18:54:08","date_gmt":"2024-12-20T17:54:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=349857"},"modified":"2024-12-20T18:54:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T17:54:08","slug":"again-vandals-attack-shiroro-katampe-transmission-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/12\/20\/again-vandals-attack-shiroro-katampe-transmission-line\/","title":{"rendered":"Again, Vandals attack Shiroro-Katampe transmission line"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Vandals had stolen part of the conductor between towers T216 and T218<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>Work ongoing to replace the vandalised 330kV power conductor<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN), says vandals have again attacked its 330kV Shiroro\u2013Katampe transmission line.<\/p>\n<p>The General Manager, Public Affairs of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/12\/17\/after-four-months-of-darkness-tcn-restores-electricity-in-bayelsa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TCN<\/a>, Ndidi Mbah, made this known in a statement on Friday in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, at approximately 11:43 pm on Wednesday, the 330kV Shiroro\u2013Katampe circuit lost supply on the grid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA trial reclosure was attempted, but the line tripped again immediately,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Mbah added that TCN lines patrol team was dispatched from the Abuja Regional office of the company to investigate the cause of the fault.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that the team discovered that vandals had stolen part of the conductor between towers T216 and T218.<\/p>\n<p>The General Manager said that the TCN lines maintenance crew had since mobilised to the site and is working assiduously to replace the vandalised 330kV power conductor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dRestoration of bulk power supply through the affected line is expected soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe appeal to the general public to assist in identifying and reporting suspicious activities around power transmission infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dYour vigilance and cooperation are crucial in helping to prevent acts of vandalism or apprehend the culprits,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vandals had stolen part of the conductor between towers T216 and T218 Work ongoing to replace the vandalised 330kV power conductor The Transmission Company of Nigeria, (TCN), says vandals have again attacked its 330kV Shiroro\u2013Katampe transmission line.
