{"id":35200,"date":"2021-05-18T19:43:03","date_gmt":"2021-05-18T18:43:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=35200"},"modified":"2021-05-18T21:55:56","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T20:55:56","slug":"photos-sanwo-olu-launches-cashless-first-and-last-mile-bus-scheme-on-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/18\/photos-sanwo-olu-launches-cashless-first-and-last-mile-bus-scheme-on-it\/","title":{"rendered":"PHOTOS: Sanwo-Olu launches cashless \u2018First and Last Mile\u2019 bus scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has launched the &#8216;First and Last Mile&#8217; bus scheme in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The launch took place on Tuesday at the Sports Ground, Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.<\/p>\n<p>The bus scheme is expected to operate a cashless payment system and make use of the central ticketing system used by all public transport modes in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Jubril Gawat, senior special assistant to the governor on new media, said: \u201cThe first and last mile bus scheme which are small capacity (7-11) passenger buses which will travel on routes designed to take you closest to and from your origin and destination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FLM is the last layer of the Bus reform Initiative for Lagos state, which comes from the Lagos state transport master plan developed by LAMATA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese buses will connect community routes to the major BRT bus stops, bus terminals, ferry terminals as well as train stations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe implementation of the First and Last Mile Bus Scheme followed the restriction of the operations of tricycles and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/17\/photos-passer-by-killed-another-injured-as-gunmen-in-military-uniform-attack-benue-revenue-inspection-point\/\">motorcycles<\/a> in six local government areas and nine local council development areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFLM scheme will be run by private operators who will work with the state.
