Today, by this agreement, there is no additional tax,&#8221; Sule said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely it will settle the dust because most of the people in the North have been sold the idea that there are going to be additional taxes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are saying today that by this, there are no additional taxes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople who want to create divisions between the president and others can now rest easy, understanding that their actions are in Nigeria&#8217;s interest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Recall that on Thursday, the Nigeria Governors\u2019 Forum\u2019s (NGF) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/01\/16\/breaking-governors-forum-oppose-vat-hike-backs-tax-reform-bills\/\"><strong>endorsed the proposed tax legislation c<\/strong><\/a>urrently under consideration at the national assembly.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-2\">The NGF proposed a fair sharing formula for Value-Added Tax (VAT) after meeting with the Presidential Tax Reform Committee.<\/div>\n<p>The governors recommended removing terminal clauses for TETFUND, NASENI, and NITDA when sharing development levies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Bola Tinubu requested the national assembly to pass four tax reform bills on October 13, 2024.
