{"id":353210,"date":"2025-01-21T21:39:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T20:39:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=353210"},"modified":"2025-01-21T21:39:48","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T20:39:48","slug":"ex-convict-granted-state-pardon-re-arrested-for-stealing-tv-in-osun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/01\/21\/ex-convict-granted-state-pardon-re-arrested-for-stealing-tv-in-osun\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-convict granted state pardon re-arrested for stealing TV in Osun"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Court said defendant broke into the house of one Shittu Damilare and stole a plasma TV valued at N600,000<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has remanded 27-year-old Adebayo Omisakin Sunday, one of the newly pardoned inmates, in Ilesa correctional centre.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant, who was number 8 on the pardon list of Governor Ademola Adeleke on December 26, 2024, was alleged to have committed another crime on January 3rd after his release.<\/p>\n<p>The police prosecutor told the court that the defendant broke into the house of one Shittu Damilare and stole a plasma TV valued at N600,000.<\/p>\n<p>The charge against the defendant reads: \u201cThat you, Adebayo Omisakin Sunday \u2018m\u2019, on the 3rd day of January 2025 at about 12:00 pm at Al-Medinat Area, Iludun, Osogbo, in the Osogbo Magisterial District, did break and enter the house of one Shittu Damilare \u2018m\u2019 and steal one plasma TV valued at the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N600,000:00k) only, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 (1) (2) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat you, Adebayo Omisakin Sunday \u2018m\u2019, on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal one plasma TV valued at the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N600,000:00k), property of one Shittu Damilare \u2018m\u2019, thereby committing an offence contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor informed the court that the defendant had been previously convicted within the court before being pardoned by the governor last year.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate Adekanmi Adeyeba ordered that the defendant be remanded in Ilesa correctional centre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Court said defendant broke into the house of one Shittu Damilare and stole a plasma TV valued at N600,000 A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has remanded 27-year-old Adebayo Omisakin Sunday, one of the newly pardoned inmates, in Ilesa correctional centre.
