{"id":354068,"date":"2025-01-29T06:48:42","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T05:48:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=354068"},"modified":"2025-01-29T06:48:42","modified_gmt":"2025-01-29T05:48:42","slug":"national-single-window-will-eliminate-3bn-revenue-leakages-annually-fg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/01\/29\/national-single-window-will-eliminate-3bn-revenue-leakages-annually-fg\/","title":{"rendered":"National Single Window Will Eliminate $3bn Revenue Leakages Annually \u2013 FG"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"marker:text-textOff list-disc pl-8\">\n<li><strong><span class=\"\">Federal government emphasizes NSW project&#8217;s potential to prevent over $3 billion in annual revenue losses through digital trade transformation<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"\">Ministers highlight the project&#8217;s ability to streamline trade processes, enhance transparency, and eliminate bureaucratic hurdles across government agencies<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The federal government has emphasized the significance of the National Single Window (NSW) project, stating that it could prevent revenue losses exceeding $3 billion annually.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Marine and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/01\/22\/blue-economy-ministry-to-spend-%e2%82%a611-7-billion-on-capital-projects-in-2025-oyetola\/\">Blue Economy<\/a>, Adegboyega Oyetola, made this known on Tuesday during a stakeholders\u2019 forum in Lagos on establishing the NSW.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out inefficiencies in port operations, bureaucratic hurdles, and poor stakeholder coordination as major challenges hindering the growth of the marine and blue economy.<\/p>\n<p>According to Adegboyega, implementing the NSW will streamline trade processes and improve trade facilitation through a unified electronic platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis digital transformation removes redundancies, reduces processing times, and enhances coordination among government agencies and private sector players.<\/p>\n<p>Essentially, it forms the foundation for efficiency and competitiveness in global trade,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, described the NSW system as a groundbreaking reform redefining cross-border trade processes.<\/p>\n<p>She added that the project would promote transparency, eliminate corruption, and reduce administrative burdens to enhance the ease of doing business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur single window project will offer a centralized digital platform for traders to submit, process, and access trade-related documentation,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, stressed the importance of stakeholder support, including government agencies and the private sector. She emphasized that collaboration is key to unlocking the initiative\u2019s potential and boosting Nigeria\u2019s trade capacity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy working together, we can leverage this initiative\u2019s power to maximize Nigeria\u2019s trade potential, drive economic growth, and create a more prosperous future for all,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>NSW Chairman and Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji, highlighted that the project\u2019s implementation would enhance Nigeria\u2019s global trade competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy establishing an integrated platform that connects all critical actors \u2013 seaports, airports, free trade zones, government agencies, financial institutions, and the private sector \u2013 we are set to transform international trade operations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Segun Ajayi-Kadir, stressed the need for robust digital infrastructure to prevent technical issues during implementation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must ensure that the effective rollout of the NSW addresses key challenges such as inadequate infrastructure and system vulnerabilities.
