{"id":354627,"date":"2025-02-03T16:11:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-03T15:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=354627"},"modified":"2025-02-03T16:11:00","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T15:11:00","slug":"kogi-court-sacks-ohinoyi-of-ebiraland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/02\/03\/kogi-court-sacks-ohinoyi-of-ebiraland\/","title":{"rendered":"Kogi Court sacks Ohinoyi of Ebiraland"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong><strong>Anaje was appointed as Ohinoyi of Ebira Land by the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in January, 2024<\/strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja, the State capital, has sacked the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje, from the royal stool.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that Anaje was appointed as Ohinoyi of Ebira Land by the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2024\/12\/20\/breaking-yahaya-bello-meets-bail-conditions-released-from-kuje-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bello<\/a>, in January, 2024, at the twilight of his administration.<\/p>\n<p>However, Hon. Justice Salisu Umar, the presiding judge of High Court 6 in Lokoja, in his ruling on Monday, made an order directing the defendant (Anaje) in a suit before to stop parading himself as the paramount traditional ruler of Ebiraland.<\/p>\n<p>Though the court was yet to make available details of the judgement, it was learnt that the case with Suit Number HCO\/05C\/2024, was filed by Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others against the Governor of Kogi State.<\/p>\n<p>All efforts to speak with the embattled Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tajani Anaje, proved unsuccessful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anaje was appointed as Ohinoyi of Ebira Land by the former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in January, 2024 A Kogi State High Court sitting in Lokoja, the State capital, has sacked the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje, from the royal stool.
