{"id":356263,"date":"2025-02-19T06:57:04","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T05:57:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=356263"},"modified":"2025-02-19T06:57:04","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T05:57:04","slug":"substandard-fuel-weve-not-imported-petrol-in-2025-nnpc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/02\/19\/substandard-fuel-weve-not-imported-petrol-in-2025-nnpc\/","title":{"rendered":"Substandard fuel: We&#8217;ve not imported petrol in 2025 \u2014 NNPC"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Kyari asserted that claim by detractors that NNPC imported 200 million litres of fuel in the last days of February 2025 is blatant lie<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/02\/06\/nnpc-deploys-five-new-cng-cascades-in-abuja-to-boost-supply\/\">Nigerian National Petroleum Company,<\/a> NNPC, has described as false claims that Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, bought from it retail outlets are bad.<\/p>\n<p>This is even as the company stated that it has not imported a litre of PMS since the beginning of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The Group Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC made this known while speaking at the 60th Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society, NMGS Conference in Abuja on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Kyari asserted that claim by detractors that NNPC imported 200 million litres of fuel in the last days of February 2025 is blatant lie.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement by NNPC spokesperson Olufemi Soneye, Kyari was quoted as saying that there are no quality issues with PMS across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe talk around fuel quality is unfortunate and a very bad marketing practice. It\u2019s all drama and entertainment, and as we know, drama has a way of entertaining the people,\u201d Kyari stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe these regulatory agencies are doing their job. They have not come back to tell anyone that we have substandard products in the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Kyari stressed that the company has taken legal and security measures to ensure that those responsible for spreading such misinformation do not tarnish the country\u2019s reputation.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the consequences of such acts go beyond NNPCL, warning that they damage the entire nation.<\/p>\n<p>While acknowledging that people may have their concerns and frustrations, Kyari cautioned that falsehoods should not be extended into business.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are just lies because we didn\u2019t even import products within the timeframe mentioned in that report. All the mischief about aligning this fictitious importation with the so-called low-quality fuel is baseless,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding a viral video claiming that NNPC fuel is substandard compared to Dangote petrol, Kyari dismissed it as \u201cunfortunate drama and bad marketing practice.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kyari asserted that claim by detractors that NNPC imported 200 million litres of fuel in the last days of February 2025 is blatant lie.
