{"id":357849,"date":"2025-03-06T06:35:45","date_gmt":"2025-03-06T05:35:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=357849"},"modified":"2025-03-06T06:35:45","modified_gmt":"2025-03-06T05:35:45","slug":"im-resting-after-successfully-building-20bn-refinery-dangote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/03\/06\/im-resting-after-successfully-building-20bn-refinery-dangote\/","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019m resting after successfully building $20bn refinery \u2013 Dangote"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Dangote recently revealed the challenges he encountered constructing the refinery which he described as the biggest risk of his life, saying he went through hell.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>President of Dangote Industries Limited, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that he is currently taking a much need after the completion his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2025\/02\/24\/weve-enough-petroleum-products-to-meet-local-demand-dangote-refinery-replies-nnpc\/\">refinery project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He made the disclosure while speaking at groundbreaking ceremony of the 43-storey building new First Bank Head Office at Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>The 650,000-barrel refinery and petrochemicals project, worth over $20bn, has disrupted the oil and gas market in Africa and the world even as the refinery now exports refined products to other countries in Africa and Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote recently revealed the challenges he encountered constructing the refinery which he described as the biggest risk of his life, saying he went through hell.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking at the event on Wednesday, Dangote said he\u2019s now resting after delivering the project.<\/p>\n<p>He commended his friend and ally, Mr. Femi Otedola, who is the Chairman of FirstHoldCo for daring to put up a 43-storey edifice in Eko Atlantic as the new Head Office of FirstBank, Nigeria\u2019s oldest financial institution.<\/p>\n<p>He said Eko Atlantic is the new City of Lagos and with FirstBank joining the list of corporate entities in the emerging industrial hub, more banks would come in.<\/p>\n<p>Dangote however stated that Otedola had also invited him to come to Eko Atlantic, adding, \u201cMaybe soon, not now I\u2019m resting right now. Having delivered the refinery I need some rest but I\u2019ll come, I\u2019ll be here very soon. So I want to congratulate you (Otedola) and the entire board and management of First Bank for taking this bold move of building a massive edifice in the new City of Lagos.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The groundbreaking is being attended by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Governors of Lagos, Ogun and Ondo \u2013 Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Dapo Abiodun and Lucky Aiyedatiwa respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Others are Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Femi Hamza; former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki; former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Other billionaires and CEOs in attendance included CEO of Pacific Holdings, Dr. Deji Adeleke; CEO of Sapetro, Senator Daisy Danjuma; Ambassador Gilbert Chagoury; Alhaji Mustapha Indimi, among others<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dangote recently revealed the challenges he encountered constructing the refinery which he described as the biggest risk of his life, saying he went through hell.
