An ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for not attending the burial procession of late COAS, Ibrahim Attahiru.<\/p>\n

Omokri said it is a sad thing for the President who travelled to Paris recently not to attend the burial of his late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, in Abuja on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Omokri tweeted, \u201cSad that President Muhammadu Buhari did not attend the burial of the late Chief of Army Staff, (Lieutenant) General Attahiru. He was represented by his Defence Minister (Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (retd.)).<\/p>\n

\u201cAttahiru died serving Nigeria. Buhari, who went to Paris for four days, could not go to Attahiru\u2019s funeral for 30 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Buhari travelled to France<\/a><\/strong> for a four-day official visit and attended the African Finance Summit. The President came back on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Attahiru and ten other military personnel died a day after \u2013 Friday \u2013 when a Beachcraft 350 aircraft crashed at the Kaduna International Airport.<\/p>\n

Attahiru was buried at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja on Saturday afternoon in accordance to Islamic rites.<\/p>\n

But while the President\u2019s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari; governors, Senators, House of Representatives members and other dignitaries travelled from their states to attend the funeral of Attahiru, Buhari was absent from the burial.<\/p>\n

Earlier in a statement on Friday evening, the President had said he was \u201cdeeply saddened by the air crash that claimed the lives of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers.\u201d<\/p>\n

He had described the crash as \u201cone mortal blow to our underbelly, at a time our Armed Forces are poised to end the security challenges facing the country.”<\/p>\n

Nigerians on social media have also berated the President for missing at the burial of the late Chief of Army Staff, General Ibrahim Attahiru, on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
