{"id":39290,"date":"2021-05-28T19:11:02","date_gmt":"2021-05-28T18:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=39290"},"modified":"2021-05-28T19:11:02","modified_gmt":"2021-05-28T18:11:02","slug":"efcc-arrest-company-executive-over-n128m-fraud-in-ibadan-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/28\/efcc-arrest-company-executive-over-n128m-fraud-in-ibadan-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"EFCC arrest company executive over N128m fraud in Ibadan (PHOTOS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) has arrested 43-year-old company executive, Amos Olugbenga Olaniyan for alleged N128 million fraud in Ibadan, Oyo State.<\/p>\n<p>Olaniyan, according to a statement on Friday by the EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, was arrested following a series of petitions by victims.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioners alleged that the suspect through his company, DHIL Nigeria Limited popularly known as Crime Alert Security Network Investment, persuaded them to invest in a network scheme which offered monthly 30 percent returns on investment.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read: \u201cAccording to some of the victims, they were persuaded to invest after listening to the suspect\u2019s weekly radio programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, after investing their monies they neither received the promised interest nor get a refund of their capital since 2020.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExasperated, they petitioned the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/28\/man-arrested-by-efcc-after-trying-to-buy-n44m-range-rover-with-bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EFCC<\/a>. The commission, in the course of investigation, discovered that the suspect operated a classic Ponzi scheme and had defrauded hundreds of people, some of whom reported orally to the commission.
