{"id":41584,"date":"2021-06-03T05:34:06","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T04:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=41584"},"modified":"2021-06-03T05:34:06","modified_gmt":"2021-06-03T04:34:06","slug":"two-dead-four-injured-as-gas-tanker-crashes-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/03\/two-dead-four-injured-as-gas-tanker-crashes-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"Two dead, four injured as gas tanker crashes in Abuja"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A gas tanker truck reportedly collided with a vehicle at the Church Gate flyover, Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Central Area, Abuja resulting in the death of two persons while four others were badly injured.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Mr. Samuel Ochi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said that the accident occurred on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Ochi said the crash involved an LPG laden tanker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/03\/eight-feared-killed-many-injured-as-truck-rams-into-motorcycles-in-lagos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">truck<\/a> with three passengers and a Golf car also with three passengers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver of the tanker laden with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) (Cooking Gas) en route Abuja from Lagos, had a collision with a Golf car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA total of six persons were involved in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/01\/one-dead-two-injured-in-car-crash-on-lagos-ibadan-expressway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crash<\/a>, comprising three in each of the vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFour of them including the driver of the tanker sustained some degree of injuries and were taken to Wuse General Hospital by the FRSC rescue team from FCT Command.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwo male adults, who were passengers in the gas tanker truck, were, however, confirmed dead and their bodies had been deposited at the mortuary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ochi said that it took the combined efforts of all the security and safety agencies to avert what would have resulted in a fire incident.<\/p>\n<p>While condoling with families of the dead, Ochi warned motorists against speed limit violation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A gas tanker truck reportedly collided with a vehicle at the Church Gate flyover, Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Central Area, Abuja resulting in the death of two persons while four others were badly injured.
