The Niger State Government has placed a ban on any form of demonstrations either protest or rally in the state.<\/p>\n

This directive was issued on Saturday by the secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane.<\/p>\n

According to the SSG, the order, which followed plans by groups to protest against insecurity<\/a>, is with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe decision to ban all forms of processions was as a result of the security situation in the state\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Matane added that security agencies have been directed to deal with persons and organizations that violate the order.<\/p>\n
