{"id":47580,"date":"2021-06-17T05:41:10","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T04:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=47580"},"modified":"2021-06-17T05:43:37","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T04:43:37","slug":"mtn-clarifies-statement-on-disruption-of-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/17\/mtn-clarifies-statement-on-disruption-of-service\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN clarifies statement on disruption of service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MTN Nigeria has stated that the notice of potential disruption of its service in the country only applies to some businesses in &#8220;specific locations&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>This clarification is coming barely 12 hours after the telecommunication company sent a message to some customers over a possible delay in service delivery amid rising insecurity in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The chief executive officer of MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola in a statement issued on Wednesday said\u00a0the company regularly informs its partners of possible disturbance to its services, adding that such notices are not out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaintaining network stability and high levels of customer service remains a key priority for us. In line with MTN Nigeria\u2019s standard practice, this includes communicating to and informing customers of any potential disruptions in a timely manner, whether due to maintenance on the network, outages due to faults or other circumstances that may pose a risk, enabling them to plan appropriately and put in place business continuity measures,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe notice in question was a routine notification to a small group of businesses affected by a specific challenge in very few specific locations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Toriola noted that small, medium and large enterprises are key to driving economic growth in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/16\/30-year-old-nigerian-man-killed-by-south-african-policemen\/\">Nigeria<\/a>, and with the rise of digital solutions, are becoming more reliant on secure and reliable connectivity solutions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognise and understand the importance of service availability and strive to deliver a seamless and uninterrupted high-quality network experience so that they are able to meet their customer\u2019s needs,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a responsible Nigerian company, we remain committed to supporting the sustainable growth and development of our country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are dedicated to delivering the highest levels of service possible and steadfast in our drive to ensure our customers have the information they need to make critical personal and business decisions and will continue to update them on relevant developments.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MTN Nigeria has stated that the notice of potential disruption of its service in the country only applies to some businesses in &#8220;specific locations&#8221;.
