{"id":47917,"date":"2021-06-17T21:13:25","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T20:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=47917"},"modified":"2021-06-17T21:17:19","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T20:17:19","slug":"oyo-to-review-park-management-system-after-transport-workers-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/17\/oyo-to-review-park-management-system-after-transport-workers-clash\/","title":{"rendered":"Oyo to review park management system after transport workers\u2019 clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The executive governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has stated that his administration will review the operations of the park management system in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The park management system (PMS) was introduced by the state after the operations of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) was banned in May 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Two people lost their lives on Wednesday when crisis broke out among transport workers in Iwo road area of Ibadan, the Oyo capital.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that one of the victims of the clash \u2014 said to have involved members of the proscribed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/04\/26\/one-feared-dead-as-okada-riders-nurtw-members-clash-in-lagos\/\">NURTW<\/a> and the PMS \u2014 was a businessman in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Makinde who visited the scene of the incident on Thursday said the state will ensure that the perpetrators behind the violence are brought to justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe loss of lives during the mayhem that occurred is unfortunate and should never have happened. I give you my word that we will ensure that everyone involved in the dastardly act is brought to book,\u201d he said<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have ordered investigations.
