Houses belonging to the family of a 70-year-old Lawrence Ezeoha popularly known as \u2018Oshionwu\u2019 have been set ablaze by angry youths for allegedly killing a mentally challenged teenager in Ikem Ogor community in Isi-Uzo Council Area of Enugu State.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that Oshionwu shot<\/a> the 19 -year-old boy identified as Ifeanyi and popularly known as \u2018Agudo\u2019 dead on Wednesday for accusing him of being responsible for his mental ill health.<\/p>\n

According to village sources, Agudo was said to be riding a commercial motorcycle otherwise known as (okada) before his mental illness started a few months ago.<\/p>\n

Trouble started when Agudo allegedly strayed into Ezeoha\u2019s compound Wednesday morning and refused to leave the compound.<\/p>\n

He was said to have started accusing Oshionwu of being the cause of his illness.<\/p>\n

Oshionwu, who was angered by the deceased\u2019s refusal to leave his compound went inside his house, took his Dane gun<\/a> and shot him in the chest.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome boys took him to Ikem General Hospital but on getting there, he was pronounced dead by doctors on duty.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis development angered the youths of the community and they quickly mobilized themselves, went and razed<\/a> down houses belonging to him and that of his son.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo the youths wanted to kill the man too but he quickly rushed to the police before they arrived. Left with no other choice, they destroyed everything in his house and set it ablaze. They also went and set ablaze the house his son had newly constructed,\u201d a villager said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
