A group named the All Progressives Congress Legacy and Awareness Campaign (APCLAC) has stated that security agencies are now speaking the language that insurgents, bandits and members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) understand.<\/p>\n
This was contained in a statement released by the group on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to the group, peace is gradually returning to the country because security agencies are taking the fight to the criminals.<\/p>\n
The statement was signed by Lanre Issa-Onilu, a former APC spokesman; Ismaeel Ahmed, APC national youth leader; and Tolu Ogunlesi, a presidential aide.<\/p>\n
The group said the \u201cpeace\u201d the country is witnessing came after President Muhammadu Buhari pledged to speak to the criminals in \u201ca language they understand\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the south-east to the south-south up to the north-east and north-west, bandits, insurgents, kidnappers and other criminal elements are being given bloody noses, in fulfilment of President Buhari\u2019s pledge to speak to these undesirable elements in a language they would understand,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the south-east, for instance, members of the IPOB that have been terrorising many communities, razing down public properties including police stations and killing security agents in the process, have almost been completely decimated.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the north-west where kidnapping and banditry are prevalent, the gallant troops are giving the perpetrators a hot chase and neutralising them in large numbers.<\/p>\n
\u201cTerrorists in the north-east are also feeling the heat as the military continues to decimate them. We commend our gallant security personnel and call on all Nigerians to support Nigeria\u2019s armed forces for the war against insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, abduction and all crimes to succeed in Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n
The group added that the Buhari administration has recorded successes in the area of infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe avalanche of positive stories has brought some palpable sense of hope to Nigerians. The hope is not misplaced,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe optics are sterling. President Buhari was physically present in Lagos on Thursday, June 10, 2021 to commission the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail.<\/p>\n
