Kenya\u2019s Director-General of Immigration Services, Alexander Muteshi, has reacted to the the arrest and \u201cextradition\u201d of the Supreme Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Muteshi dismissed the claims of Kenya\u2019s complicity in the arrest of the IPOB leader.<\/p>\n

Reacting to same issue of Kanu’s arrest<\/a>, an Official in the Kenya Ministry of Interior said that the ministry is not aware of the \u201cextradition\u201d of IPOB leader to Nigeria.<\/p>\n

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Kanu’s brother, Kingsley had claimed that whilst visiting Kenya, the IPOB leader was detained and handed over to the Nigerian authorities<\/a> who then flew him to the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhilst visiting Kenya, Nnamdi Kanu was detained and handed over to the Nigerian authorities who then flew him to Nigeria,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy brother has been subject to extraordinary rendition by Kenya and Nigeria. They have violated the most basic principles of the rule of law. Extraordinary rendition is one of the most serious crimes states can commit.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth Nigeria and Kenya must be held to account. I demand justice for my brother, Nnamdi Kanu<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Kenyan government officials have dismissed the family\u2019s claim in separate interviews with Reuters and Kenya\u2019s Nation newspaper.<\/p>\n

\u201cA spokeswoman for the Kenyan interior ministry said it was not aware of the matter, while the foreign affairs ministry in Nairobi did not respond to a request for comment,\u201d Reuters said in its report.<\/p>\n

Also, Muteshi while dismissing the family\u2019s claim told Kenya\u2019s Nation that it was not possible to tell whether Mr Kanu had entered Kenyan territory.<\/p>\n
