{"id":53832,"date":"2021-07-02T20:47:36","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T19:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=53832"},"modified":"2021-07-02T20:47:36","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T19:47:36","slug":"13-year-old-remanded-for-allegedly-defiling-11-year-old-girl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/02\/13-year-old-remanded-for-allegedly-defiling-11-year-old-girl\/","title":{"rendered":"13-year-old remanded for allegedly defiling 11-year-old girl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 13-year-old boy (name withheld) has been remanded in a correctional home, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl in Lagos state.<\/p>\n<p>The Magistrate, Ejiro Kubeinje of the Ikeja Magistrates\u2019 Court, directed the police to send the juvenile case file to the state Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.<\/p>\n<p>She adjourned the case until August 17 pending legal advice from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/15\/lagos-dpp-reveals-why-baba-ijesha-wont-be-released-on-bail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DPP<\/a>\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Prosecution Counsel, Bisi Ogunleye, the defendant committed the offence in March at his residence, when he unlawfully had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/12\/notorious-homosexual-who-specialises-in-abusing-minors-for-ritual-arrested-in-katsina\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sexual intercourse<\/a> with the girl.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201cAfter he had satisfied his sexual urge, he released her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe girl cried to her mother and told her what the defendant did to her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The parent of the girl reported the case to the police, leading to the arrest of the defendant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ogunleye stated that the offence violated section 27(1) of the Child Rights Law of Lagos State, 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A 13-year-old boy (name withheld) has been remanded in a correctional home, for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl in Lagos state.
