{"id":55775,"date":"2021-07-08T06:30:15","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T05:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=55775"},"modified":"2021-07-08T06:32:16","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T05:32:16","slug":"dpr-issues-3-month-ultimatum-to-filling-stations-over-licence-renewal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/08\/dpr-issues-3-month-ultimatum-to-filling-stations-over-licence-renewal\/","title":{"rendered":"DPR issues 3-month ultimatum to filling stations over licence renewal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A three-month window for owners of petroleum products retailing outlets in Lagos to renew and regularise their operating licences has been issued by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).<\/p>\n<p>This was made known on Wednesday by the zonal operations controller of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Ayorinde Cardoso in Lagos.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the DPR taskforce team, during a surveillance exercise, shut down a total of 103 filling stations, 13 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/06\/dpr-seals-off-103-filling-stations-13-gas-plants-in-lagos-for-illegal-operations\/\">gas plants<\/a><\/strong> in Lagos for operating without valid licences.<\/p>\n<p>However, Cardoso said the DPR decided to permit the owners of the petroleum products retail outlets to reopen for business following interventions by industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that the regulatory agency had met with representatives of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) and the Independent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/11\/four-suspected-illegal-petroleum-dealers-handed-over-to-efcc-in-uyo\/\">Petroleum<\/a> Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) over the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe affected operators have been given a three months window for the renewal\/regularisation of their operating licences within the zone,\u201d Cardoso said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is in line with the department\u2019s drive of being a business enabler and opportunity house.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that the DPR would continue to ensure safety in the selling and distribution of petroleum products to reduce incidents of explosion in the state<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A three-month window for owners of petroleum products retailing outlets in Lagos to renew and regularise their operating licences has been issued by the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).
