Achi-Kanu, granted the accused bail with one surety in like sum following the application for bail by her counsel, Mr. S.N. Solomon.<\/p>\n<p>Achi-Kanu directed that the address of the surety should be verified and means of identification submitted to the court.<\/p>\n<p>He, thereafter, adjourned the matter till August 3 for definite hearing.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/16\/four-pregnant-girls-rescued-as-police-uncover-baby-factory-in-anambra-photos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pregnant girls<\/a> were not in court, neither were their ages disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>According to News Agency of Nigeria, the prosecutor, Mr. B.I. Ogbu, had told the court that the defendant and others now at large had, on June 17, conspired among themselves to confine the four girls in her house.<\/p>\n<p>Ogbu added that their plan was to have the girls eventually give birth to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/05\/malian-woman-who-was-expecting-seven-babies-gives-birth-to-nine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">babies<\/a> that would be handed over to different hospitals and later sold to prospective buyers.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the offence allegedly committed was contrary to Section 319 of the Criminal Code, Revised Law of Enugu State, 2004.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>27-year-old Blessing Eze, was granted standing trial by the Enugu North Magistrates Court over alleged slave trade and unlawful confinement of four pregnant girls, N500,000 bail.
