{"id":56922,"date":"2021-07-11T06:43:54","date_gmt":"2021-07-11T05:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=56922"},"modified":"2021-07-11T06:43:54","modified_gmt":"2021-07-11T05:43:54","slug":"how-okowas-aide-allegedly-forged-principals-signature-to-defraud-delta-govt-of-n14m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/11\/how-okowas-aide-allegedly-forged-principals-signature-to-defraud-delta-govt-of-n14m\/","title":{"rendered":"How Okowa\u2019s aide allegedly forged Principal\u2019s signature to defraud Delta Govt of N14m"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Francis Osedume, Special Adviser on Students Affairs to the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, is being investigated by the Department of State Services for allegedly defrauding the state government of N14 million after forging the signature of one of his principals, Jerry Ehiwarior.<\/p>\n<p>According to SaharaReporters, Osedume was sacked by the governor over the forgery of signatures, attended Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, but was expelled for related offenses.<\/p>\n<p>The online publication stated that top sources in the Delta State Government confirmed that Osedume, formerly with the Union Bank, was also sacked after being linked to fraudulent activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile at Union Bank, he also forged the signature of the Students Union Government executive of his former school, Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic, thereby clearing the account of the said union.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was appointed S.A. in 2019 when the governor visited one of the tertiary institutions and watched him speak, an act that impressed him and got him appointed on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is Special Assistant while Jerry Ehiwarior is Senior Special Assistant to the Governor. Jerry was appointed in 2015,\u201d a top source said.<\/p>\n<p>Another source stated, \u201cOsedume has been sacked for forgery and Impersonation. He was sacked for forging the signature of Comrade Jerry Ehiwarior, SSA to the Governor on Students affairs to defraud the state government of over a N14million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe case is currently with the Department of State Services, (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/10\/why-dunamis-church-should-hold-next-sunday-service-at-dss-headquarters-sowore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DSS<\/a>), Delta State Command. Before now, the former S.A. Students, Francis, stole the files of the SSA, and that was when the forgery happened.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that Osedume sent the letter with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/28\/icpc-arrests-two-frsc-officials-who-forged-certificates-for-promotion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">forged<\/a> signature to the governor for approval of about N14million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny approval from him must pass through Jerry, so he forged Jerry\u2019s signature and sent it to the governor.
