{"id":57842,"date":"2021-07-13T13:30:23","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T12:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=57842"},"modified":"2021-07-13T15:27:03","modified_gmt":"2021-07-13T14:27:03","slug":"i-cant-be-a-father-need-money-for-full-transformation-surgery-ex-falcons-player-james-johnson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/13\/i-cant-be-a-father-need-money-for-full-transformation-surgery-ex-falcons-player-james-johnson\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I need money for full transformation surgery to be a father&#8221; \u2014 Intersex ex-Falcons player cries out for help"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Super Falcons defender, James Johnson, who was born intersex, has revealed that he still finds it difficult to be a father after two transformation surgeries to become a man.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, previously named Iyabode Abade, was dismissed from the Super Falcons team after he was discovered to be intersex.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson disclosed this while speaking on TVC \u2018Your View\u2019 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The former female footballer, who was born and brought up as a female said he was born with both male and female organs and after sometime chose to become a man.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson said, \u201cI don\u2019t have breasts, I don\u2019t menstruate and it is so contradictory because I can\u2019t say this is my real identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He explained that he needs to undergo the final <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/13\/transgender-woman-jailed-for-15-years-for-robbing-bank-to-pay-for-cosmetic-surgery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surgery<\/a> before he can become a father and a full grown man.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI need to do the final surgery to be a full blown man, I\u2019ve done two surgeries. But now I\u2019m finding it difficult to be a father because I\u2019m yet to perform the last surgery due to lack of funds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) did not render any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/13\/video-how-tb-joshua-blessed-me-financially-countless-times-dele-momodu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">financial support<\/a> to him when he undergone two surgeries to become a man<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has not been easy for me. I need support to enable me to be a fully happy person . Life has not been friendly for me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I was with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/05\/17\/photos-oshoala-makes-history-as-barcelona-win-womens-champions-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Falcons<\/a> of Nigeria, at the time my case was brought up and since I was chased out NFA at that time neglected me and did not render any financial support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m still seeking financial support so I can be happy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Super Falcons defender, James Johnson, who was born intersex, has revealed that he still finds it difficult to be a father after two transformation surgeries to become a man.
