{"id":62582,"date":"2021-07-26T11:53:19","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T10:53:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=62582"},"modified":"2021-07-26T11:53:19","modified_gmt":"2021-07-26T10:53:19","slug":"breaking-igbohos-wife-monarchs-arrive-beninise-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/26\/breaking-igbohos-wife-monarchs-arrive-beninise-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking: Igboho\u2019s wife, monarchs arrive Beninise court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ropo, wife of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho, has arrived the Cour De\u2019appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic for the trial of her activist husband.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/25\/sunday-igboho-details-of-yoruba-monarchs-meeting-in-benin-republic-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yoruba monarchs<\/a> based in Benin Republic as well as other Yoruba Nation supporters have also arrived the court premises in solidarity with the activist.<\/p>\n<p>The traditional rulers had earlier met on Sunday and resolved to intervene in the matter.<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/20\/breaking-sunday-igboho-arrested-in-cotonou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou on Monday night while trying to catch a flight to Germany<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ropo was released after the court found out that she had not committed any offence.<\/p>\n<p>The court, however, returned Igboho to the custody of Brigade Criminelle in Cotonou, Benin Republic after adjourning the case involving the Yoruba rights activist.<\/p>\n<p>Igboho is being investigated following his arrest and allegations brought against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The allegation levelled against the activist is that he&#8217;s a gun runner, causing disturbances in Nigeria and trying to divide Nigeria into two or three.<\/p>\n<p>The court is also expected to rule on the extradition of Igboho to Nigeria or otherwise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ropo, wife of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho, has arrived the Cour De\u2019appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic for the trial of her activist husband.
