{"id":63793,"date":"2021-07-29T04:27:32","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T03:27:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=63793"},"modified":"2021-07-29T04:27:32","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T03:27:32","slug":"medical-report-others-delay-igbohos-bail-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/29\/medical-report-others-delay-igbohos-bail-application\/","title":{"rendered":"Medical report, others delay Igboho\u2019s bail application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The legal team of the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, is reportedly putting up a strong bail application that would not be rejected by the Cour D\u2019Appel De Cotonou, Benin Republic.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the 48-year-old activist legal team is awaiting an official medical report, among other documents, to file a bail application on his behalf.<\/p>\n<p>According to PUNCH, one of the 11 lawyers expected to represent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/28\/pray-for-igboho-he-was-severely-injured-after-dss-raided-his-house-counsel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Igboho<\/a> said, \u201cPreliminary reports that we are getting from the medical team show that Igboho needs medical attention. They said he appears strong physically, but his state of health is not getting better. He was limping during Monday\u2019s proceeding.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are awaiting an official report. That is part of what we will be presenting for his bail application.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/20\/breaking-sunday-igboho-arrested-in-cotonou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Igboho and his wife, Ropo, were arrested at the Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou on Monday night while trying to catch a flight to Germany<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The coordinating counsel for the Yoruba Nation agitator, Olasupo Ojo,\u00a0 who said lawyers were considering different options on the Igboho matter, refused to give a definite date for the submission of the bail application for the activist, who is facing fresh charges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe initial allegations are dead. We have achieved the purpose that we set out to achieve in the first place \u2013 to stop the illegal extradition of Sunday Igboho.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have different options that we are considering apart from applying for bail. I cannot disclose those options now.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is alright. The medical doctors have seen him. His wife is also taking food to him. His right as a detainee is being respected. His lawyers also have access to him. We have no problems,\u201d Ojo said.<\/p>\n<p>On Igboho\u2019s state of health, the lawyer said, \u201cHe has no complaint now.
