{"id":64229,"date":"2021-07-29T20:43:10","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T19:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=64229"},"modified":"2021-07-29T20:46:23","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T19:46:23","slug":"igp-orders-internal-review-of-allegations-against-dcp-abba-kyari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/29\/igp-orders-internal-review-of-allegations-against-dcp-abba-kyari\/","title":{"rendered":"IGP orders \u2018internal review&#8217; of allegations against DCP Abba Kyari"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, on Thursday ordered an \u2018internal review\u2019 of the allegation against Abba Kyari, Deputy Commissioner of Police by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.<\/p>\n<p>Kyari, who is the head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/29\/how-abba-kyari-allegedly-used-someones-account-to-collect-money-from-hushpuppi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">linked to fraudster, Hushpuppi<\/a>, whose name is Ramon Abass.<\/p>\n<p>Hushpuppi, an alleged international fraudster risks jail term of 20 years after pleading guilty to fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Reports had it that Hushpuppi had bribed the IRT boss to jail a disloyal member of his gang. This, Kyari has denied<\/p>\n<p>However, the IGP said the review was in line with the commitement of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure justice and professionalism.<\/p>\n<p>This was contained in a statement by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba entitled: \u201cAlleged indictment of DCP Abba Kyari: Inspector General of Police orders a review of the information.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement reads: \u201cSequel to the receipt of allegations and indictment processes from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) against one of the personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, DCP Abba Kyari, the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered an internal review of the allegations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to the pursuit of justice and the strengthening of its professional relationship with the FBI and other international partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFurther developments on this case will be communicated to members of the public accordingly.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, on Thursday ordered an \u2018internal review\u2019 of the allegation against Abba Kyari, Deputy Commissioner of Police by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.
