Joy Emordi, joins APC\u2019, was issued by Buni\u2019s Director-General, Press, and Media, Mamman Mohammed.<\/p>\n<p>The statement quoted Emordi as saying that she was convinced that \u201cthe future of a prosperous and united Nigeria lies in the APC\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She was said to have described the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/04\/former-presidential-candidate-olawepo-hashim-defects-to-apc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">APC<\/a> leadership as \u201csincerely and genuinely committed to a united Nigeria that has plans for the future generation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The legislator assured the party of her loyalty and that of her supporters to the party, saying, \u201cl assure the party of my loyalty and support and to work for the success of the party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe APC-led federal government is working for the South-East and this is attracting more PDP members into APC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman CECPC Mai Mala Buni expressed delight with the decision taken by the board member to contribute to the unity of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a need for us to join hands for the political stability and national unity of our dear country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Buni said the coming of Emordi and other prominent politicians from the South-East into the APC will promote national unity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Southeast is a strong political block and very crucial to the unity of the country, this will no doubt add to national cohesion, \u201d the Chairman added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Joy Emordi, has defected from PDP to the All Progressives Congress.
