{"id":66733,"date":"2021-08-04T21:11:55","date_gmt":"2021-08-04T20:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=66733"},"modified":"2021-08-04T21:15:49","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T20:15:49","slug":"fraud-nigerian-couple-declared-wanted-by-international-police-photos-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/04\/fraud-nigerian-couple-declared-wanted-by-international-police-photos-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Fraud: Nigerian couple, CEOs of PorkMoney declared wanted by International Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">A couple, Gloria Igberaese and Muyiwa Folorunsho are wanted by Interpol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The two entrepreneurs were declared wanted by the Interpol over their involvement in multi-million dollar investment fraud.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">The entrepreneurs are said to be the CEOs of Divergent Enterprise operating businesses such as Landlagos, PorkMoney, Hyberfactory and Porkoyum, among other companies that they allegedly used to fleece thousands of Nigerians in a slew of Ponzi schemes linked to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">In one case, the suspects, whose social media prominence earned them the pseudonym \u2018Bonnie and Clyde\u2019, allegedly defrauded investors N1 billion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><em>\u201cThese funds were however diverted to personal use, including for the purchase of luxury properties and foreign citizenship,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>victims said in a January 21, 2021, petition to federal authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Warrants of arrest separately issued for them by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/04\/17\/man-recounts-how-police-officers-in-lagos-extorted-n200k-from-him-shortly-after-returning-from-dubai\/\">Lagos Division<\/a> of the Federal High Court said they are wanted for obtaining money under false pretence and stealing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><em>\u201cHe is wanted by the police for the offence of obtaining money under false pretence, stealing and diversion of fund,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>a notice issued by the Intepol section of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos said with descriptions of their physical qualities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><em>\u201cIf seen, arrest and hand over to the nearest police station or to the office of the commissioner of police Interpol Section Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex Alagbon Ikoyi Close, Lagos,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>the documents further said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">In 2019, the CEOs who are said to be a couple, came under heavy criticism on Twitter after users who claimed to be their former employees accused them of fraud, creating a toxic work environment, deducting from their salaries or firing them over trivial mistakes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">One of the alleged former employees identified as Ada accused the couple of defrauding clients and keeping their married status from public space.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">However, in their defence, Mrs Osei denied ever mistreating any staff member.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><em>\u201cFor those who are unhappy with my perceived treatment of them while working for me, I sincerely apologize, and I do hope that over time, as you venture into creating businesses of yours that you get to understand why some things however unpalatable are totally necessary if one is to survive as a business owner in Nigeria,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0she wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">They were declared wanted following a petition filed by Chijioke Ukaegbu and other victims.
