There was pandemonium in Awkuzu, Oyi local government area of Anambra State as two Naval men were feared killed during a gun battle with suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).<\/p>\n

According to eyewitnesses, residents scampered to safety as gun shots<\/a> were booming all around the area.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the incident occurred at the same spot where three Naval men died in a gun duel with gunmen last year.<\/p>\n

The Nation reported that the gunmen<\/a>, in five vehicles, stormed the place where the security operatives were stationed and opened fire.<\/p>\n

When contacted, Anambra police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, said he had not received detailed reports on the incident.<\/p>\n

However, he confirmed there was heavy shooting at the time of filing this report, adding security operatives were being deployed to the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
