{"id":70380,"date":"2021-08-13T07:51:06","date_gmt":"2021-08-13T06:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=70380"},"modified":"2021-08-13T07:51:06","modified_gmt":"2021-08-13T06:51:06","slug":"fg-reopens-eko-bridge-begins-repair-of-airport-flyover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/08\/13\/fg-reopens-eko-bridge-begins-repair-of-airport-flyover\/","title":{"rendered":"FG reopens Eko Bridge, begins repair of airport flyover"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has announced the reopening of Eko Bridge, which had been under repairs, to traffic on Friday, Aug. 13.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola, in a statement on Thursday night, said the 10-week rehabilitation works on Eko Bridge were completed on schedule.<\/p>\n<p>He also said traffic would be diverted for the rehabilitation of the burnt Lagos Airport flyover from August 13.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Alaka to Costain section of Eko bridge which was closed to traffic since 4th June, 2021 will now be opened on Friday 13th August 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Honorable Minister of Works and Housing thanks the motoring public for their cooperation while the rehabilitation work was ongoing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that additional works to be carried out on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/07\/02\/fed-govt-shuts-eko-bridge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eko bridge<\/a> would not require closure.<\/p>\n<p>Eko Bridge was shut on June 4, with traffic diverted for the second phase of the rehabilitation of the Costain-bound section of the bridge.<\/p>\n<p>Popoola also said traffic diversion towards the rehabilitation of the burnt Airport flyover bridge in Lagos would begin from Friday, August 13 until September 22.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Government has announced the reopening of Eko Bridge, which had been under repairs, to traffic on Friday, Aug. 13.
