The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that a suit instituted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking to remove Mai Mala Buni as Yobe governor is frivolous.<\/p>\n
The main opposition party, PDP in the suit dated and filed August 12 said Buni violated\u00a0section 183 of the constitution, when he accepted to serve as chairman of the APC caretaker committee.<\/p>\n
APC national secretary, John Akpanudoedehe in a statement released on Friday said\u00a0the opposition party is \u201cexecuting a desperate and poorly-scripted propaganda\u201d aimed at distracting the public from its internal crisis.<\/p>\n
Akpanudoedehe said the supreme court affirmed the legality of Buni-led APC caretaker committee when it upheld the election of Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo governor.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur attention has been drawn to a purported court action sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker\/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) and Governor of Yobe State,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile we are constrained from and reluctant to comment on the PDP\u2019s misplaced and frivolous court action because it will be sub judice, the PDP leadership is obviously executing a desperate and poorly-scripted propaganda plot aimed at deflecting attention from the crisis of confidence the failed opposition party faces.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe PDP are ignominious rablerousers and have no locus to take any action on the internal affairs of the APC. The Supreme Court has already affirmed the status and legality of the CECPC and that is all there is to it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are clearly spelt out punitive measures against abuse of court processes. We are confident that the Judiciary will apply these measures fully.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
